    • Craft Brewing

    In 2016 we went "all-in" on Craft Brewing equipment and ingredients. Up until that point we had offered a small selection of beer kits, a couple of hops and one ale yeast. Fast forward to today and we have completely renovated our store. We have also quadrupled our hardware section, expanded into all fresh ingredients for beer making, and now include free, fast milling on all grain. There is no limit to the kind of beers that can be made from the ingredients we have at KJ. Everything is fresh, and competitively priced.

    All of us who work at KJ are home brewers ourselves and love to answer any and all questions our customers come up with. Everything is available both in-store at our retail location in Guelph, and on our online shop. 
    Retail Location

    Visit our spacious, open concept retail location in Guelph, ON to pick up your next batch of ingredients, or shop for new hardware to make your next brew-day that much more efficient. 

    Our hops and yeast are kept cool 24/7 in big fridges at the front of the shop. While our grains can be found in over 58 separate bins just beneath our 40' chalkboard.

    Grain Milling

    All grains sold by the pound can be milled for free. Full 55lb bags can be milled for $5 per bag.

    We recently upgraded our mill to Blichmann's fancy new model. This one mills quickly, and gives a great even grind. Even better, we can customize the level of grind that the machine delivers. Our efficiency increased by 8% once we moved over to this mill. Using a Brewzilla? Then you will have best results with a coarser grind. Doing BIAB? Let us know and we'll grind it finer.

    It mills quickly, and with very consistent results. A 55LB bag of grain can be milled in under 6 minutes!

    Fresh Ingredients

    A core philsophy at KJ is using high quality, fresh ingredients in our fermentations. We started the business by importing grape juice for Europe for winemaking, and have extended that same philsophy to brewing supplies.

    • Our grains are fresh and re-stocked weekly. Only milled by customer request to maintain freshness.
    • Our hops are vaccumm sealed on-site and never left to sit in open air. We strive to have the most recent crop year for our hops whenever possible.
    • Our yeast selection is always in date and properly labelled. Yeasts sold after their best before date are sold at a discount (but are almost always viable).
    CO2 Exchange & Fill Services

    We offer a selection of CO2 services at our retail location in Guelph.

    • Exchange Program: We stock a large amount of 5, 10, and 20lb CO2 tanks full of CO2 that can be exchanged with an eligible* empty tank. There is a one time buy-in fee of $35 to get into the exchange program.
    • CO2 Tank Refill: Customer CO2 tanks are filled once per week off site by our CO2 Partner. Tanks are picked up on Thursday evenings at 4pm and returned by Friday at 12pm.
    • New CO2 Tank Sales: We sell new, filled CO2 tanks with automatic and complementary entry into our CO2 exchange program.

    Brewing Classes

    Guided by our professional brewing team, we will walk you through all of the steps to brewing your own beer at home in just one evening. This is a comprehensive class that is easy to follow, fun, and very informative.

    This innovative class distills the multi week brewing process into just one evening class held at our retail location in Guelph, ON. The equipment used in the class is virtually identical to our regular beer starter kits.
