Trebbiano is one of our favourite wines, yet one of the most unknown! It has the grassiness and floral notes of Sauvignon Blanc, but it also has more body and apple flavours as well. When fermented dry it comes out very smooth and ages well.
We also like to blend this wine with Barbera or Merlot for a killer rose. We recommend blending at a 2 white - 1 red ratio to get the right colour. Scroll down to learn more.

Known as “Ugni Blanc” in France where it is typically used for Cognac and Armagnac, Italian Trebbiano feature long cylindrical bunches of tough-skinned berries that yield acidic yellow juice. These types of vines are vigorous and high-yielding and account for a third of all white wine produced in Italy.
• High acid gives the juice a high stability
• Light and crisp
• Fresh and fruity, but doesn’t keep long
• Delicate wine with grassy and fruity notes
• Wine is very typical and is mostly used for blending
• Simple and clean
• Wine is to be consumed younger due to its shorter shelf life
• We find that the wine is quite enjoyable after 3 months of aging
• Terrific blending wine
• Blends with Merlot to make a delicious Rose. We recommend a ratio of 2 parts Trebbiano, 1 part Merlot.
