These fermenters are our in house choice for all wine fermentations of 25L or less. We love these because they are easy to clean, have the volume markings, and are very portable.
Includes lid.
The lid is solid, if you would like to ferment beer with this fermenter, we recommend drilling a hole in the lid to accommodate a rubber bung and airlock. The lid can seal tightly, but without an airlock, the excess CO2 from fermentation will have nowhere to go!
For wine fermentations, it is less imperative that the lid be sealed. Wine fermentations are safer from the threat of oxidizaton, though we recommend fermenting no longer than 20 days in this equipment before transferring to a carboy.
