These dark purple skinned grapes are one of the primary grapes used in the creation of Chianti and typically require a long growing season as they bud early and ripen slowly. This particular varietal is our fullest bodied red we offer. It features strong jammy notes, along with dark cherry and a bit of vanilla. We love to make this wine with lots of oak, and it blends incredibly well with Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Merlot and Syrah.
