Sangiovese

These dark purple skinned grapes are one of the primary grapes used in the creation of Chianti and typically require a long growing season as they bud early and ripen slowly. This particular varietal is our fullest bodied red we offer. It features strong jammy notes, along with dark cherry and a bit of vanilla. We love to make this wine with lots of oak, and it blends incredibly well with Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Merlot and Syrah. 

2021 Notes: This years Sangiovese juice is lighter in colour than years before. We expect it to darken during fermentation, but to achieve a darker wine we recommend blending with Cabernet.
